to those with fearful hearts

Scripture: Isaiah 35:1-10

The author of Isaiah 35 has these words for those with fearful hearts: be strong, and do not fear (35:4).

The role of fear wears many faces and rides many emotions, the two biggest being anger and sorrow. We're taught not to be fearful, but fear never stops.

Fear has no place when you consider these words from the prophet: And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the death. The lame will leap like a deer and those who cannot speak will sing for joy (35:5-6)!

When we consider how faith and fear are opposites, we are not blind or deaf. And singing for joy? Yes, this happens, too.
