Sermon Sneak Peek

Week Of: January 27, 2020
Speaker: Pastor Will Hagenbuch
Scripture: Colossians 3:12-15

An empty MVHS locker room before a big game is a perfect place to talk about clothing ourselves in tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and peace. What can Paul mean by also clothing ourselves in love?

Watch and listen.

FULL TRANSCRIPT:

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. This is what Paul says in Colossians 3:12. Two verses later, he adds, “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

I am thankful to be back in the locker room of my old high school. And clothing yourselves in love and righteousness, humility, gentleness, and patience just makes sense as I look at this special night where our church

Gave out flowers to cancer survivors. So, when Paul invites us to clothe ourselves, let’s do so in love.

We’ll talk more about this on Sunday, where I won’t be in a locker room. But until then, may God bless you and amen.
