1 Peter 2:21a reads, "For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example...."
Reading this, some may be thinking, "Whaaaat? I may suffer through through doing good? Um, is there a pass card I can hold up?" This verse can make us wide-eyed, apprehensive, even scared until we remember God never forsakes or abandons us. When we get down to it (which is what this verse requires us to do), we realize this connection, this bonded in blood relationship with Jesus, is all we ever need.
APPLICATION: Sign up. Show up. Do good in the face of suffering. Think not of yourself but our your Savior, and the act or actions (and what you need to complete them) will come.
