After the sudden and unexpected loss of my dad, I remember my mom, some six months after the love of her life had died, saying, "My tears just don't do anything."
My own grief has been different from my mom's of course, but I understand her comment. You may, too. So, it's interesting in our upcoming text that Hagar cries what I imagine to be small buckets of water (Genesis 21). The vision God then gives her is a well of water, as if all her tears had purpose.
APPLICATION: I am brave enough to share that your tears have purpose. Cry them!
