Sermon intro

Week Of: November 2, 2020
Speaker: Pastor Will Hagenbuch
Scripture: Ephesians 2:1-10
My dad and the Apostle Paul align. Paul once said, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10a NKJV)."

My dad, a beer drinker who, with my mom, once owned a big, black, secondhand beer refrigerator in the living room, has said, "Beer foam floats."

I begin the upcoming 3-part sermon series UNMASKING CHRISTMAS by saying Christians cannot stay low, hidden or silent. I get shaky faith, anxiousness, anger that suppressed still stings, and an overwhelming sense of ground-shaking doubt, but created in Christ, we cannot look away, coast, or even be comfortable. It is not in our DNA. It is not in God's plan. It is not what our nation and our neighbors need.

Speak up. Rise up. Shine up. We were made for such a time as this.

Beer. Christmas. Maybe I should have gone with eggnog, or, even better, run with different imagery all together, but beer foam floating...as my dad's son, this has worked for me.

It is time to work now.
