Moses’ mother set her baby son into a basket.
Jesus filled so many baskets with more than enough food for 5,000 hungry people.
In the July sermon series FILL THE BASKET, some good faith questions are centered around filling baskets—our baskets and the baskets of others.
When we consider the baskets I mention, is faith for the foolish? Faith certainly isn’t something financially sound—that is, if you do faith right.
So, why do we do it?
We know the phrase, “Look before you leap,” but every follower of God knows we cannot see where we are going. Only God has this ability. Even more beautifully, God has this love. This love is abundant. This love brings others to him.
Be metaphor-minded this week. Think about the two baskets I bring to our attention.
We know what God does with emptiness. (He fills it). What we do with our emptiness helps us understand our faith in practice.
In our Christian practice (that is, in the filling of baskets), we do find we look to God. Then, with joy, we leap.
