Different audiences offer different responses—energies—to each live performance. One night the audience is playful. The following night the audience is reserved. It IS the same show. Same actors. Same script. Same sets.

Consider the two-word phrase "group mentality" when it comes to gathering for worship. Sure, we can stay independent. When the mood is celebratory we can remain in an opposite place, for example. But like a pleasing scent, the Spirit of God does reach us—the presence of the Divine does change us—when we are in a group. The change is never dour. The change is delightful.

APPLICATION:  Gather. Gather well. Gather with intentionality. At the spur of the moment. With those you know and those you don’t know necessarily. But gather. As you invite and include the Divine into your group, you know what you'll experience. And, at the very least, that's something good.
