Midweek Meditation

Week Of: September 23, 2024
Speaker: Pastor Will Hagenbuch
Scripture: Mark 10:46-52
"Whoa now, that's a tall order," someone said to dissuade you. The person tamping you down likely had your best interest in mind. After all, let's be real. A crazy idea IS a crazy idea.

Oh, and nothing THAT exciting usually happens, right?

Bartimaeus says differently. Rather than let the crowd hush him further when Jesus passes on His way out of town, Bartimaeus shouts a second time. This time he is louder. "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Jesus' healing stories very vastly. This one in Mark 10 is no different. Bartimaeus, who is actually blind, is the only one who can see not only who Jesus is but also what Jesus can do. He can restore sight.

APPLICATION: Wonder where you are blind. And, when Jesus does restore your sight, be more than willing to follow Jesus not half-heartedly, but with all the get-up-and-go like Bartimaeus displayed. Life IS crazy, after all. This is all the more reason to find (and share) even more thrill in it.
