Scripture records what King Darius says before Daniel is tossed into the den of lions. Scripture does not record Daniel saying anything.
Daniel is silent.
Then again, he isn't. The exiled prophet, who prayed when a new and wrongful law went against private prayer, continued to pray. Standing before what could have been his death, he prayed.
Scripture does not say that Daniel prayed, but both my head and heart say to me that Daniel was never silent. He was talking to God.
APPLICATION:
Talk to God in prayer. Perhaps some of your thoughts or actions need to be put to death. They may need to be put to death so that you can know God even more.
Or perhaps your prayer is praise to God because, like Daniel, you can stand before anything and know you'll be okay. Really, truly, totally okay. And whether you stand or are tossed, you'll be okay because you know God is with you.
