Do we celebrate labor or rest on Labor Day? The answer may be both. There's a two-part process when Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)." Before rest, we have to come to him. Before rest, we have to labor.
"It is not a labor to come to Jesus," a Christian says, but it is intentional.
APPLICATION: Intentionally spend time with Jesus, that is what I think he means here. Breathe in his presence. Your praise, prayer or petition can wait at least a moment as you experience rest not alone but with him.
