I want to thank the number of people who watch these videos each week. And this week, in appreciation, I wanted to do something different, something fun. I have three jokes about sleep and in the comment section below this video, I invite you to, uhm, share with everybody which of the three you find the funniest. If you find the first joke the funniest, put a number one in the comment section. If you find the third joke the funniest, ah, but a number three in there. And, of course, the second joke is great, funny, and wonderful! But judges, get ready, because here comes joke number one.
I don’t get enough sleep at night. But when I sneeze, sometimes I close my eyes.
Second joke. I’m a doctoral student and late night hours are really long, and the early morning hours are really long, and on a warm afternoon, sometimes I yawn a lot. And, so, yesterday I fell asleep with my cell phone and downloaded a nap.
And two partners are in bed sleeping. It’s the middle of the night. Second partner has this dream where he sees someone and very loudly says out loud, “Hello!”
The first partner doesn’t say anything about this all day long, and then that night, the first partner says to the second partner, “If you’re going to see someone in your sleep tonight, just wave.”
Um, I joke about sleep because this Sunday in worship we’ll be talking about Matthew 11:28 when Jesus says, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
So join us as we talk about rest this Sunday. And God bless you and amen.
