"Don't let your hearts be troubled (John 14:1a)," is something Jesus says for this obvious reason: we let our hearts get troubled! We are anxious, worrisome, stretched, stressed, burdened, and heavy-laden with what is, what will be, or what could be.

These familiar words from Jesus about our hearts should also be famous words from Jesus because they need to be said and spread often!

No one is immune to trouble, uncertainty, and hardship. We do, however, have a choice in how to respond. Think about the times you'd rather hold your anxiety rather than turn it completely over to Jesus. Sure, we THINK we let stuff go, but too often we don't.

This comes down to trust and experience. The more we experience Jesus in our daily lives, the more we trust him with our daily lives.

Start today (or continue today). Hand Your Something over to Jesus. Keep it out of your mind. For some of us, we are able to keep it with Jesus for an hour. Others may be able to go for a day or two. Even when we take back what we've given, and this is usually done unknowingly in the moment, we are still building our relationship with our Savior because, yes, we are finding out more about ourselves, but more so, we are learning more and more about him.
