"Jesus, do what I want you to do! Now!" This seems like the easier prayer. Not far from this were the apostles who repeatedly asked Jesus when he'd be the hero they wanted him to be by freeing Israel and restoring their kingdom (Acts 1:6ff). The often wondered when, in fact, he, this king of kings, would free Israel from Roman oppression.
This is key scripture when we can pray so specifically for what we deem to be desirable outcomes. We all fall into specific prayer requests. There is nothing "wrong" with this type of prayer as God knows the desires in our hearts. Keep praying! The key here is the kingdom, a word the apostles use.
"Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven" is a part of the Lord's Prayer. It's God spiritual kingdom here on earth that is not only assessible but also present to each believer. The prayer "Your will be done," is not a copout prayer; it's our understanding that we relinquish control over what we never controlled in the first place.
