Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a-conflict, many a-doubt
Fightings within and fears without
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Dear Congregation,
The lyrics (above) to the hymn Just As I Am speak to today’s message about serving Christ with our holes in our hands and in our feet much in the same way Christ presented holes in His hands and feet to those who gathered. It is in (and with) His brokenness that Christ presented Himself in today’s scripture. So it should be with our presentation—our serving—of our God. We were made from His love for this time because the following is true: He rose to SAVE; we rise to SERVE.

PRAYER: Lord, take us as we are. We certainly can be tossed about! With this, we pray that You make us more than we are not by our way or our want, but by and through Your will. We pause and pray for those on our prayer chain, and, with trust in You, we seek out the ways You will have us serve You. Amen.
