‘The things you do for love” is the title of this vlog. I’ll share why it’s titled this way in a moment. There’s a story behind it, of course.
Earlier this morning, in my mom’s car, I take my mom to an appointment here in Montrose, Pennsylvania. And then with her car, I continue on, park the car at the bank for an errand, and then realize that the key to her car is in her purse—and she has her purse. So, I’m about at mile two here coming back to the car.
And along this beautiful journey here today, I pass poison ivy, a police car (and apparently you can walk safely—or not get stopped by the cop here in Montrose when you walk so well like I’m doing). And I also saw a dead deer.
“The things you do for love” is titled this because I think of Paul in 2 Corinthians chapter 6, which is where we pick up our text this Sunday.
And Paul does tremendous things in the name of love, for all of us as we walk into a meaningful Father’s Day because Paul does such amazing things in the name of love, his love for Jesus, that benefits us all.
So as we move into a beautiful weekend, I invite you to avoid poison ivy, but nevertheless enjoy your journey because it is God given and inspired, in part, by Paul, a father figure to us all.
