Our God is a God of promises, of actions yet to be. Christianity does not rest on the Old Testament; Christianity trusts that our God in scripture then is the same God now, and that’s our God of action, not inaction. We have seen God come through in the stories of those in the past and realize today that God is our God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
This means God has been, is, and will continue to be with us. And the “will be” part? This is where it all gets exciting. Even if you cannot hear God at work in your life in this very moment, even if some or many of the situations around you create stress or struggle, this doesn’t mean God isn’t here. This means God is at work with nothing to say just yet.
The joy and the success of Christianity is that our God will come through. What will be in time is our God making every promise of His a reality.
