Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. — Psalm 85:8

We all experience upset. How we right set what has turned is obvious. We go to “how to” videos and tutorials because they work. From how to change the battery in your vehicle’s fob to how to find peace when life is not peaceful is a single search or swipe away.

Of course, for more in depth information we do go to the book or the Book. This is always recommended. However, to have religious resources available immediately is one of God’s most impressive, modern-day gifts. For example, when we type in a search engine ‘How can I hear God?”, we find results on how, exactly, to hear God.

Amazing, right?

If we search long enough, this very sermon prep will appear. (What? It wasn’t right on top?)

How God speaks peace to his people, his faithful people, is exactly how the psalmist describes it. When we turn to God the Lord (and apparently to the psalmist this isn’t redundant) in our hearts, we experience peace. This isn’t peace in some vague sense. It’s God the Lord’s peace.

The more we hear God in our hearts that do turn, then the more change and peace we will experience and share.

PRAYER: Keep turning us to You, God the Lord. In our searches, keep defining and redefining who You are so that as a people who are (and are sometimes not) so faithful, we hear you. Amen.
