Jesus lives. He tries to make this clear to the disciples long before the cross loomed on a hill. In John 14, he does this by sharing news of the Advocate, the Holy Spirit. This does not go so well with the disciples. When we are honest, sometimes this does not go so well for us either because we don't live as Jesus wants us to live. We don't respond like Jesus calls us to respond. We don't love like Jesus taught us to love.
"Since I live," Jesus says, "you will also live [John 14:19a]." Let's live. Let's simply, significantly and surprisingly live boldly, bravely, and beautifully. They question isn't why we should live. It's how we should we live. And we live simply, significantly, surprisingly, boldly, bravely, and beautifully live because Jesus himself lives.
And that's not enough; oh no, that's far more than enough.
Sigh, breathe, cheer. Wherever your energy is in this now, just live. Live because he lives.
