Midweek Meditation

Week Of: June 21, 2021
Speaker: Pastor Will Hagenbuch
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:1-10
The enemy is not defeated when our lives are full of roses and sunshine, Pastor Ray Stedman says. Instead, the devil is defeated when we are down and out, strapped, stressed, weak, and helpless.

“Now hold up,” some could think. “Isn’t this when the devil is winning?”

The devil does not win when we whimper, moan, cry and/or plea if, in this weakness, we come to God. It is when we come to God in weakness that we find God’s strength. This connection defeats the enemy.

This captures the spirit of what Paul when he says, "When I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:10)."

APPLICATION: We may feel that we don’t know what to do or say in such times of distress or duress, but this isn’t true. This is when we significantly turn to God for help.
